and creating a world without eating disorders
| Our Mission To eliminate the stigma and raise awareness about the critical epidemic of stress and eating eating disorders on college campuses. To provide hope, inspiration, financial assistance and other resources for college students seeking recovery and freedom from the chains of their obsession. |
Did you know eating disorders affect more than 10 million women and another one million men and children in the U.S. alone?
* Six and seven year old children are being diagnosed with eating disorders
* 81% of ten year olds are afraid of being fat
* 85% of eating disorders start between the ages of 14 and 20
* 90% of high school girls diet regularly
* Approximately 30% of college students suffer with eating disorders.
(The numbers are even higher in sororities). It is no longer “a female” problem.
* Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any psychological condition
* 10% of individuals with anorexia die and many are not under weight when they die
* 75% of women recently surveyed admitted to having an unhealthy relationship with food and their
bodies. (The men just haven’t been surveyed yet!)
We have a serious problem! But this epidemic reaches far beyond the borders of the U.S. It reaches around the globe and affects the lives of millions of individuals who deserve a better life. Millions deserve to find freedom from the chains of obsession with food and their bodies, but lack the tools to do it alone.
We at The COEDS Project are committed to making a difference on college campuses. Our goal is to provide education for family and friends who don’t understand this “odd behavior;” inspiration for those who desperately need it along with tools and resources to lead them on their journey to freedom. We do not discriminate, we are here to help young and old, males and females, families, educators and students on any continent. Let’s work together and make this world a better place–free from eating disorders.

The COEDS Project is accepting sponsor donations (individuals and organizations) to help make our documentary, “COEDS” a reality. This documentary will profile the link between college life, eating disorders and stress.
Our goal is to distribute this documentary (with an information packet), for FREE to college campuses as part of our ongoing effort to raise awareness where it is critically needed–and position our college students for success in life.
